HAP has released a booklet of guidelines to help you understand the preventive services as defined by the United States Preventive Services Task Force.
Under Health Care Reform, women will have an extended list of preventive services available with no cost sharing, including contraception. This extended list applies to non-grandfathered plans and will take effect with plan years beginning on or after August 1, 2012. If your health plan was renewed before then, these services will be available to you when your plan renews in 2013. The booklet that HAP provides to its members will include a full list of services now included, as well as anything else considered to be a preventive service.
