7 Ways to Spend Down Your FSA Funds

There are only a few days left in the year, but if you don’t use the funds in your Flexible Spending Account, you lose them! Here are some ideas for spending down your funds in 2012:

1. Visit the doctor or dentist. This is a busy time of year, but you may be surprised how many doctors can squeeze you in for a visit.
2. Fill your prescriptions!
3. Purchase or replenish your first aid kit.
4. Visit your chiropractor!
5. Purchase any medical monitoring or testing devices for blood pressure or glucose.
6. Therapy visits, if it is for treatment of a medical disorder.
7. Massage, if it is for treatment of a medical condition.
This may also be a time to consider your yearly FSA contribution. If you had a considerable amount left in your account for 2012, consider contributing less in 2013.
