Wellness Programs

By: Lauren Corbett

According to the Employee Benefits Research Institute (EBRI), in a study on Wellness programs, individuals in “consumer driven” health plans are more likely to use wellness programs. They are more likely than those in traditional plans to have access to wellness programs at work and be offered cash incentive to participate. The top three reason why those in Consumer Driven Health Plans (CDHP) participate in these programs are because:

  1. Incentive prizes
  2. Reduced health premiums
  3. Desire to improve health
