Austin Benefits Awarded Best and Brightest in Nation

We did it again! Austin Benefits has been awarded another 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For in the Nation award.

The Best & Brightest Companies to Work For® competition identifies and honors organizations that display a commitment to excellence in their human resource practices and employee enrichment. Organizations are assessed based on categories such as communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, retention and more.   “Our employee-centered culture is core to who we are and because of the culture we are able to provide our clients with the highest level of service in the industry,” said Dean Austin, President & CEO of Austin Benefits Group.  “Others say they go above and beyond, at Austin we truly live this every day.”

We pride ourselves on maintaining a fun and welcoming culture, we’re the definition of “work-family”. A big part of our culture is our giving spirit, which we demonstrate through our Austin Gives Back initiatives. We incorporate community involvement through wellness by sponsoring 5ks, during the holidays by adopting a family, and cooking for the South Oakland shelter, and even raise funds throughout the year by “paying” to wear jeans!

One of our recent Austin Gives Back events was cooking dinner again for the South Oakland Shelter. The South Oakland Shelter (SOS) has been ending homelessness for individuals and families in crisis for over 30 years. We made a hearty spaghetti and lasagna dinner, all ingredients donated by our team members. This year we even brought along some of our kids and everyone had a wonderful evening cooking, serving, and spending time with members of the shelter.

At the end of 2016, we also celebrated the holidays by adopting a family as our gift for our President & CEO, Dean Austin. We worked with the Adopt-A-Family program through the DMC Children’s Hospital in Detroit. Our family this year was Mom and her three boys, ages 8, 6, and 6 months. Our office tree was overflowing with presents, as we had one of our most generous total donations this year, thanks to all of our team who participated. Each boy received winter gear, clothing, and toys. Mom received household essentials and a big handful of gift cards.
