In Gallup’s Annual Work and Education poll, conducted earlier this month, 48% of those polled are more worried about employers cutting their benefits than: losing their jobs, cutting their salary, losing hours, and their job moving overseas. United States employees fear that their health benefits are most at risk because that will be the first place employers choose to cut back during a difficult economic time. However, employees also said they would be willing to lose some perks of their benefits package if it meant keeping their jobs.
The difference in responses of college educated employees and non-college educated employees was significantly different. Non-college educated employees polled were more worried about their benefit loss than college educated ones, by 10%.
The Gallup’s Annual Work and Education poll is conducted every year.
