TRX Suspension. It sounds intimidating, doesn’t it? The name is enough to scare you off, but if you can muster the courage and the determination, you won’t regret it.
Our wellness program at AFG encourages us to try new things. So when our friends at HealthQuest/FitnessQuest invited us to their brand new gym in Rochester for a TRX Suspension and Spin class, we were in!
The class began with light stretching and foam rolling. Dana, our trainer, checked on our injuries (active people seem to have a lot, don’t they?) and we tailored the workout to accommodate. That’s one of the great things about FitnessQuest, much of the training is rooted in physical therapy, which means you know when you step foot in their gym, you’re in good hands. From there, our workout went something like this:
10 minutes on the bike- Alternating intensity, RPMs, and resistance. Phew, that got our heart rates up.
10 minutes TRX circuit of squats, rows/pull-ups and slammers. NOW we were tired.
But oh wait, back on the bike for another 15 minutes alternating our focus on intensity, RPMs and resistance.
The circuit continued on and wrapped up with a pilates TRX circuit.
I know I made it sound easy, but we were so focused and refreshed we didn’t even remember to snap a few photos of the new gym or some of the great things we learned. Guess you’ll just have to check it out for yourself!
