Tuesday, August 9, 2011–NAMU Family Support Group Meeting

Wednesday, August 10, 2011–Blood Pressure and Stroke Awareness

Blood pressure testing 11 a.m.-4 p.m., cholesterol screening noon-2 p.m. at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, 2333 Biddle, multipurpose room, Wyandotte 734-284-2400. $10 cholesterol testing.

Thursday, August 11, 2011–2011 Gleaners’ Iron Chef Competition

Culinary competition between 2 local top chefs! This event raises money to feed Livingston County families in need. Tickets include samples of appetizers, desserts, and drinks from local restaurants, caterers or merchants. $50/ per person, www.ironchefevent.com. August 18-19, 2011–Kidz Kamp for Grieving Children

Sunday, August 21, 2011–Bike/Walk for Kids Kicking Cancer

9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Waterford Hills Raceway, 4770 Waterford Road, Clarkston, 9-10 a.m. competitive riders, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Open to all riders.

Saturday, September 3, 2011–Priority Health Arts in Motion 5K

Presented by DMC Sports Medicine with Priority Health to benefit MI Youth Arts. During the infamous Ford Arts, Beats, and Eats on September 3 in Royal Oak, MI. 7:30-8:30 am check-in, 9 am start. Cost for the 5K fun run/walk $30. Saturday, September 17, 201–Bike MS; Fall BreakAway MS Ride
