The challenges many organizations face when implementing a wellness program can range from unhealthy lifestyles to disinterest in the program. Since each organization may experience different challenges, creating a custom solution will allow you to optimize health outcomes.

  • Put your goals in writing:
    • For example, develop policies for emergency response, tobacco use, healthy food and beverage choices, and supporting new working mothers.
    • Provide written support for employees to participate in wellness programs during paid work time (not break or lunch time)
  • Make it easy:
    • Sponsor activity teams, like employee softball, golf, bowling, volleyball and charity walks.
    • Arrange for healthy food and beverages, including water, to always be available at meetings and break rooms.
  • Provide Leadership:
    • Communicate employee wellness support regularly and participate in programs yourself.
    • Convey the importance of healthy employees in your company mission statement
